Totals

Current research credits Gabilan with sinking 4 ships, totaling 7,549 tons, including Isuzu (credit shared with USS Charr in both JANAC and Alden) and a sub chaser (Shonan Maru No. 1 - which was not credited to Gabilan in JANAC), plus a small vessel of unknown tonnage sunk by gunfire and also not credited to Gabilan in JANAC. These figures do not include the minesweeper W-25 (mistakenly credited to Gabilan in JANAC). The figures are nearly identical for Alden-McDonald.

JANAC credits Gabilan with 3 ships sunk totalling 1,354 tons, plus shared credit for Isuzu. Note that the criteria JANAC used included all Japanese Naval vessels (although JANAC did not usually count warships less than 500 tons that were converted from merchant ships) and all Japanese merchant vessels of 500 or more gross tons known or believed to have been lost during the war. Differences between JANAC figures and current research are noted above.

SORG credits Gabilan with 6 ships of 10,700 tons sunk, including 1 vessel with no tonnage listed..
