Patrol 1

19 Nov 1944 - 15 Jan 1945

第76号駆潜特務艇 Cha-76

Patrol 2

11 Feb 1945 - 21 Apr 1945

No sinkings

Sea Owl is credited in JANAC with the sinking of the Japanese submarine Ro-56 at Wake Island. However, Ro-56 was not at Wake Island, and most likely sunk by American destroyers east of Okinawa on 8-9 April 1945. Japanese sources state that I-372 was attacked on the date and at the location of the Sea Owl attack, but was not damaged.

Patrol 3

20 May 1945 - 29 Jul 1945

第41号海防艦 CD-41

Unidentified Schooner sunk by gunfire, estimated at 300 tons, 4 POWs taken

Totals

Current research credits Sea Owl with 3 ships sunk, totalling 1,245 tons, including the unidentified schooner estimated at 300 tons. These figures are the same for Alden-McDonald.

JANAC credits Sea Owl with 2 ships and 1,689 tons sunk.

SORG credits Sea Owl with 5 ships and 7,000 tons sunk.
