Totals

25 ships, including one very small ship (Nanshin Maru) not credited to Tautog in JANAC. These figures do not include Ro-30 and Submarine Chaser No. 30, but do include Hokuan Go, identified only as an "Unknown Maru" in JANAC.

JANAC credits Tautog with 26 ships, including Ro-30, an "Unknown Maru" (Hokuan Go), and a small submarine chaser (Cha-30), and 72,606 tons sunk. Note that the criteria JANAC used included all Japanese Naval vessels (although JANAC did not usually count warships less than 500 tons that were converted from merchant ships) and all Japanese merchant vessels of 500 or more gross tons known or believed to have been lost during the war. Differences between JANAC figures and current research are noted above.

Alden-McDonald credit Tautog with 26 ships and 65,335 tons sunk, including Hokuan Go (called "Unknown Maru" in JANAC), and two small vessels (Nanshin Maru and Naga Maru #11) not credited to Tautog in JANAC. However, they do not credit Tautog with sinking Ro-30 and Submarine Chaser No. 30. both of which were credited to Tautog in JANAC. In addition, Alden-McDonald credit Tautog with 3 ships sunk by mines laid by the submarine, totalling 12,946 tons.

War Patrol Reports and Endorsements credit Tautog with -- ships and -- tons sunk.

SORG credits Tautog with 31 ships (over 500 tons), and 122,800 tons sunk.

The Miramar Ship Index credits Tautog with ships and tons sunk.
